DEADLINE: JAN 15, 2020
A NEW SELECTION PROCESS FOR 2020
Welcome to the Catalyst Stories Institute (aka, Storieroad)! The launch of Storieroad marks a major shift in the way Catalyst selects which creators and projects are including in the festival and considered for meetings with industry executives and professionals.
Unlike previous years, Catalyst now requires creators to complete a straightforward series of online and/or in-person seminars, workshops, and educational modules to be considered for Network Notes and Marketplace meetings that have successfully advanced creators' careers.
This aims to simplify the industry process. It will better prepare creators for meetings, and will allow our Catalyst team to set up even better and more targeted meetings.
Why Change the Process?
For many content creators, developing a career path within the television/multimedia industry can feel confusing and overwhelming. They would prefer to focus their time on being creative instead of worrying about what to do next, how to get seen, who to talk to, etc. We aim to give them that support.
While the festival week is an amazing pinnacle of every year, it has grown to the point where there is too much happening at once for creators to meet everyone in 5 short days. Spreading out the Catalyst process over the course of the year will allow creators to make more connections and better industry relationships.
