Catalyst champions episodic storytellers of all levels as they develop their stories and advance their careers. Our mission is to lower the barriers between creators, producers, and the industry by providing students a fun & legitimate way to connect with working professionals.

FAQ's:

What kind of content is accepted??

Catalyst accepts narrative/episodic/serialized content. Projects can have any number of episodes and be in any stage of development: pitch, script, in-production, post-production, or completed produced video. Catalyst does not accept feature films.

How old do you have to be to submit?

Catalyst Student Awards is open to individuals who are 14 years of age or older. Entrants under the age of 18 must have parental consent to the terms of these Official Entry Rules: https://www.catalystories.org/terms-conditions

What are the categories?

Students can submit a pitch, script, or video in any stage of development into the following categories: drama, comedy, documentary, social media, or podcast.

How much content can I submit?

Students are welcome to submit as many projects they would like to as many categories as they would like. For information on individual submission requirements please see below:

For each individual video submission please submit 1-3 completed episodes but no more than 35 total minutes combined. If submitting multiple episodes they must all be on one video file.

For each individual script submission please submit only one episode that is 20-45 pages in length. Submissions must be in pdf format.

For each individual pitch submission please submit a pitch deck/presentation that is 7-15 pages in length. Submissions must be in pdf format.

For each individual podcast submission please submit 1-3 completed episodes but no more than 35 total minutes combined. Must be 15-30 minutes in length per episode. If submitting multiple episodes, they must all be on one audio file.

When can I submit?

Our 2023 Film Freeway submissions are open NOW! You can submit from April 14-June 30, 2023.

Where can I submit?

You can submit your content by visiting our Film Freeway page. On the right there will be a column labeled "Categories & Fees". Expand the tab of whichever category you want to submit to and click the green "Submit Now" button.
