Breaking Story: The Basics

This is a crash course for the TV-loving but plot-averse. We'll identify the trappings of "breaking story" and offer you tools and exercises to approach breaking in a fresh, exciting way. Come with your pilot ideas and/or your plots that don't quite work yet. We'll break our way to END OF PILOT!

About the event
Christina Pumariega acts and writes. Often simultaneously. Her TV writing credits include “Turner & Hooch” (Disney+) and “Bluff City Law” (NBC). She is the author of Her Math Play (EST/Alfred P. Sloan grant), Lei Chiede (O’Neill NPC finalist) and Joan Dark, which will be workshopped at DCPA’s 2023 Colorado New Play Summit. Acting on and Off-Broadway and in television and film, Pumariega has cross examined Coach Taylor, made out with the Fly and set a Cuban pharmacy ablaze in a corset. She is the founder of Más Páginas: the Series, a collective that dares more pages from diverse womxn writers, and Más Páginas: the Class, where she teaches screenwriting online. MFA Acting, NYU.
