Catalyst is a year-round storyteller institute championing creative voices of all levels as they develop their stories and advance their careers. Our mission is for content creators to make a living they love from where they love living, by lowering the barriers between creators, audiences, and industry. Our institute and festival programs focus on increasing access to education (high school, college & professional development), civic engagement, economic empowerment, and creative community development.

What makes us unique is our focus on episodic storytelling. There are hundreds of film schools and thousands of film festivals, but few pathways specifically for long-form (aka, TV) style storytelling.  The rise of indie TV has led to the creation of a niche market of hundreds of high-quality television series representing the next generation of voices. Our outstanding talent and their work have gone on to achieve remarkable distinctions such as Emmy nominations and BAFTA awards, as well as attain indie distribution, network development and career advancement on platforms like Netflix, Hulu, NBC & Apple TV+.
