For story artists to be able to make a living doing what they love from where they love living

CREATING A SELF-SUSTAINING PRODUCTION CYCLE

Storytelling is our global currency. It has intrinsic value that goes directly to our sense of self-worth and dignity as humans. ​However, many communities do not have the educational and financial infrastructure required to support their artists. This forces artists to work multiple jobs to pay for life expenses such as rent, food, and other basics. This leaves them with little time to develop their creative works and careers. We created this fellowship to help fix that problem.
 

THE FELLOWSHIP PRIZES

• 9 awards will be granted in total: 3 actors, 3 writers, 3 producers

• (3) $5,000USD fellowships, mentorship, & US festival acceptance & attendance. 1 actor, 1 writer, 1 producer.

• (3) $1,000USD, mentorship & US festival acceptance. 1 actor, 1 writer, 1 producer.

• (3) $500USD, mentorship & US festival acceptance​​. 1 actor, 1 writer, 1 producer.

THE FELLOWSHIP PROCESS

• Finish at least 1 course of Catalyst classes (for example, all 8 classes in the acting course) before October 31, 2024

• Submit for the fellowship via the online portal before November 15, 2024. It is free to apply.

• Writers submit scripts. Actors submit a reel/in-person audition of short scenes. Producers submit a pitch packet.

• Three rounds of judging by Catalyst professionals, Albanian judges, and a professional industry jury

• Finalists and winners announced before December 31, 2024.

FELLOWSHIP EXPECTATIONS

Those who are awarded the fellowship will be asked to submit a work sample each month showing their development as an artist.

• Writers must submit scripts of any length under 90 pages

• Actors must show significant improvement in their craft and their career

• Producers must show us the final plans for a potential project ready to be financed and shot in Albania​

• You do NOT need to produce an actual TV or film project. This is a development life grant, not a production grant.

• Fellowship winners must use the money to pay for basic life expenses such as rent, food, etc. for 6 months.

RULES & REQUIREMENTS

• Open to Albanian nationals and residents only. Multicultural teams allowed.

• First submissions must be in English (final projects can be in Albanian).

• No age requirement

• No previous experience required other than completing at least 1 track of our classes

• Must submit in the specific track that they completed

• Both TV and film projects accepted​​
